New York, NY, November 6, 2006 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) will now offer Spanish anti-bias educational workshops and materials designed for parents and early childhood family members and caregivers of young children.
In response to changing demographics, ADL's Miller Early Childhood Initiative of A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE® Institute (The Initiative) has translated its existing Family Workshop materials into Spanish, created in partnership with Sesame Workshop and made possible through the generosity of Cynthia and George Marks.
This will enable ADL to offer The Initiative Family Workshops to Spanish-speaking parents and guardians of preschool age children and better meet the needs of this population.
Newly translated workshop materials include Fundaciones Sin Prejuicios: Afiche De Educacion Preescolar (Bias-Free Foundations: Early Childhood Poster) and Fundaciones Sin Prejuicios: Actividades Preescolar Para Las Familias (Bias-Free Foundations: Early Childhood Activities for Families).
Through The Initiative, ADL provides anti-bias workshops and materials designed to train early childhood educators, caregivers and family members to help children understand, respect and appreciate differences. Over the past five years, ADL has conducted more than 500 of The Initiative workshops, affecting the lives of approximately 60,000 educators, family members and children.
