West Orange, NJ, May 25, 2005 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) congratulated the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco and Explosives (BATFE) on the arrest of two alleged members of neo-Nazi skinhead groups. Gabriel Carafa, 21, and Craig Orler, 28, have been charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. The two allegedly also gave 60 pounds of fertilizer to a federal informant and asked him to build a bomb. The arrests were the culmination of a six month investigation which was cut short as the details of Carafa and Orler's plot became known to law enforcement officers.

"The successful investigation and arrest of Gabriel Carafa and Craig Orler provides a model for how law enforcement agencies can collaborate to prevent violent attacks in our country," said Etzion Neuer, New Jersey ADL Regional Director. "We congratulate the State Investigators assigned to the Division of Criminal Justice - Office of Bias Crimes (DCJ), with the assistance of Special Agents from the federal BATFE on the investigation and arrest of Carafa and Orler. This incident proves that law enforcement working together in partnership can be effective in the war against terrorism."
