ADL Statement On New Israel Government
New York, NY, March 31, 2009 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) issued the following statement on the establishment of a new government in Israel.
Glen S. Lewy, ADL National Chair, and Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, said:
We extend our congratulations to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the formation of a new Israeli government.
Prime Minister Netanyahu and the new government will be dealing with many immediate and daunting challenges -- from Hamas' ongoing build-up of deadly weapons, to Iran's march to develop nuclear weapons capability, to an increasingly hostile international environment in which demonizing Israel in the guise of criticism has become more prevalent, to the impact on Israel of the global economic crisis.
We stand in solidarity with Prime Minister Netanyahu and his government and wish them great success as they work to promote peace with security and continue to build a strong, stable and democratic State of Israel.
The Anti-Defamation League, founded in 1913, is the world's leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry.
