ADL Condemns Vandalism of Jerusalem Convent
Jerusalem, Israel, October 3, 2012 ... The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) strongly condemned the October 2 vandalizing of a Jerusalem convent.
Vandals spray painted “Jesus is a bastard” and “price tag” on the door of the Franciscan convent, which is next to the Dormition Abbey cathedral Dormition on Mount Zion. “Price Tag” is the term coined by extremist Israeli settlers who say they will exact a “price” for Israeli government action against illegal settlements and outposts.
The incident was condemned by Israeli leaders, including President Shimon Peres and police say it will be investigated by a special unit which charged with investigating anti-Christian attacks.
The Anti-Defamation League, founded in 1913, is the world's leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry.
