ADL Applauds Suns, Sarver for Symbolic Gesture

Phoenix, AZ, May 5, 2010 ... The Arizona Region of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) applauds the decision of Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver and the entire Suns team to don their "Los Suns" jerseys for tonight's playoff game with the San Antonio Spurs.  The jerseys were produced for the Suns organization's "Noche Latina" evening at which the Latino community was honored.

Bill Straus, Arizona Regional Director of ADL and Miriam Weisman, Regional Board Chair, stated, "We salute the Suns and Mr. Sarver for optimizing the power of symbolism on the front-and-center stage of the NBA playoffs.  The gesture is especially significant, coming on Cinco de Mayo.  At a time in which Arizona is being denigrated and mocked for the passage of SB1070, Mr. Sarver and his entire team have chosen to send the message that not all of us in this wonderful state support such a measure."
