ADL Disappointed by Texas State Board of Education’s Consideration of Offensive Resolution
September 16, 2010 ... The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) expressed disappointment and concern that the Texas State Board of Education is considering a resolution alleging pro-Islamic/anti-Christian bias in Texas social studies textbooks.
ADL issued the following statement:
This resolution is offensive and objectionable. It smacks of the Board of Education favoring one religion over another and does a disservice by fueling anti-Islamic prejudice at a time when sensitivities are high.
We urge the State Board of Education members to reject and publicly denounce this resolution.
