| Four years after the tragedy of September 11th and in the wake of the war in Iraq, anti-Arab and anti-Muslim bias remains an important issue to discuss and address in schools and communities. As students return to school in the month of September, the Anti-Defamation League is pleased to feature two books that educate young children about Arab- and Muslim-Americans, and raise awareness about the bias that many people from these groups experience. These two book selections not only encourage a deeper understanding of the cultural and religious practices of Arab and Muslim-Americans, but also offer children the opportunity to explore ways to respond to intolerance leveled against their Arab and Muslim-American schoolmates and neighbors.
