Background/History

Oskar Dirlewanger (1895-1945) was an SS brigade commander involved in anti-partisan actions in World War II, as well as the suppression of the 1944 uprising of the Polish Home Army in Warsaw. Even among the Waffen SS, his unit was known for cruelty and atrocities. As a result, Dirlewanger is looked up to by modern day neo-Nazis.
