We are extremely concerned by media reports that France's Ambassador to Great Britain, Daniel Bernard, made derogatory remarks about Israel during a conversation at a dinner party in London.

It is highly troubling that a French government official would make such crude anti-Israel statements.

We hope that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is conducting a full investigation into the Ambassador's statements, and will take appropriate disciplinary steps if necessary.
