While there are fewer reported incidents of clashes between Israelis and Palestinians, today a 24-year old Palestinian blew himself up when he rode his explosive-packed bicycle into an Israeli army checkpoint in Gaza. An Israeli soldier was lightly wounded. Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility. An Israeli military spokesman blamed the Palestinian Authority for giving a "green light" to the attack. The suicide bombing follows Israeli military and intelligence warnings of an increased risk for terrorist attacks inside Israel. In the past weeks the PA has released scores of Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists from their prisons. The United States has expressed great concern at the daily coordination of the PA with Hamas and Islamic Jihad leadership.
