Law enforcement officials from federal, state, and local agencies in Nevada and Colorado gathered to hear from an Anti-Defamation League expert on the topic of right-wing extremism in the United States.
In Reno, Nevada, approximately 60 attendees representing the Reno Police Department, Nevada Department of Corrections, Washoe County Sheriff's Office, Storey County Sheriff's Office, Washoe County Department of Alternative Sentencing, and Carson City Sheriff's Department attended a briefing.
The Anti-Defamation League expert then met with 54 members of the Colorado Department of Homeland Security in Denver.
Later, the trainer presented for approximately 200 law enforcement personnel at the Colorado Gang Summit Training, sponsored by the Denver Metro Area Graffiti Task Force, in Littleton, Colorado.
The trainings focused on white supremacist hate groups, domestic terrorism, and the identifying symbols, ideologies and criminal activities of the hate groups in the region and across the country.
