Domestic Terrorism Training in Ohio

Posted: May 4, 2009

Law enforcement officers from across Ohio heard from Anti-Defamation League experts on right-wing extremism in Toledo.

Approximately 80 officers representing numerous Ohio law enforcement agencies attended, including the Toledo PD, Fremont PD, Vermillion PD, Delaware County Sheriff's Department, Ottawa County Sheriff's Department, North Ridgeville PD, Perrysburg Township PD, Baltimore PD, Findlay PD, Ohio State Patrol, Hancock Sheriff's Department, FBI, Port Authority, and Seneca County Sheriff's Department.

During the training, which was hosted by the Toledo Police Department, ADL experts provided an overview of domestic terrorism and criminal extremism, which included presentations on hate groups, hate symbols, and the anti-government "patriot" movement.
