In December 2010, the Anti-Defamation League brought a group of 15 senior law enforcement officials from the northeast on a  counter-terrorism training mission in Israel.

The trip included meetings with Israeli counter-terrorism and intelligence experts and police commanders, visits to Israel's borders with Syria and Lebanon, and the sites of missile attacks in Israeli towns near the Gaza Strip. Participants included senior command staff from the FBI, NYPD, Boston Police, Massachusetts and New Jersey State Police, in addition to several northeast police chiefs.

One participant gave this summary upon his return to the US: "Overall, the seminar was an incredible experience. It was both educational and pleasurable. The topics discussed were interesting in the sense that they can be applied to my professional career as an Executive Commander. It was interesting to learn of the conflicts between the Jewish people and the Palestinians. The interesting part of this trip was to see the Israeli people united as one when it came to the safety of their own people. What touched me personally was the suffering of the Jewish people at the hands of Muslim extremism and suicide bombers."

Israeli law enforcement officials face terrorist threats every day, and are uniquely qualified to share information, strategies and tactics with their American counterparts. This trip is an opportunity to provide law enforcement the most updated and effective tools available to help respond to attacks and investigate terrorist threats.  Plans are underway for another training mission in 2011.
