Background

Throughout the past few years, Turner has occasionally shut down and relaunched his Internet radio show. One of his most notable departures from the airwaves occurred in July 2008, amidst accusations that Turner had been providing information to law enforcement agents. Before shutting down his show, Turner informed listeners that he was not only terminating the show, he was separating from the “pro-White movement” and that he would no longer involve himself “in any aspect” of white supremacy. Turner did not stay off the air or out of the movement for long, though, relaunching his program in March 2009.

Turner has made menacing statements towards groups he perceives as enemies, which include federal and local officials, law enforcement officers, illegal aliens and Jews for many years. Since the spring of 2005, Turner has urged the listeners of his Internet radio show and his Web site to target federal judges and law enforcement officials and to beat and murder illegal aliens. He has also advocated torturing and killing Jews and attacking yeshivas.
