Authorities apprehended a fugitive California white supremacist, Ian Morrow, on February 14, 2008, in Pahrump, Nevada.
Morrow, 38, was arrested on four outstanding warrants. The charges against him include multiple counts of assault with a deadly weapon, possession of illegal weapons, being an ex-felon in possession of weapons, criminal threats, and being a member of a criminal street gang.
Morrow had failed to appear in court in Ventura County, California in January 2008, prompting warrants for his arrest with bail set at $1.5 million. During the execution of a subsequent search warrant, authorities discovered weapons at his Ventura home. Another arrest warrant was then issued with bail at $1 million.
District Attorney's office investigators working with the Ventura Police Department Special Enforcement Team collaborated with the FBI's Ventura Resident Office and the Las Vegas FBI Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest Morrow. The Las Vegas FBI Fugitive Task Force includes federal agents and detectives from both the Las Vegas Metro and Henderson Police Departments.
Morrow is being detained in Las Vegas on the outstanding arrest warrants with a combined bail of $2.5 million pending his extradition to Ventura County.
The leader of the Ventura-based racist skinhead gang Confederation of Racialist Working Class Skinheads (CRW) and former head of White Devil Industries, an online white-power music company, is wanted by Ventura Police in connection with multiple felony charges, including assault and criminal threats, according to a January 28, 2008, press release issued by Ventura police to aid in his capture.
According to police, Ian Morrow, 38, is considered armed and dangerous. He is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, 200 pounds, with hazel eyes, numerous tattoos, and a shaved head.
Morrow was supposed to be in court on January 14 on two open felony cases. Due to his failure to appear, the court issued a warrant for his arrest.
Authorities executed a search warrant of the Ventura home Morrow shares with his girlfriend on January 11, 2008, discovering eight loaded guns, a bulletproof vest, and Nazi and white supremacist paraphernalia, including a large swastika flag in his living room.
Morrow was arrested in Ventura in August 2005 on suspicion of an assault against an off-duty Hispanic security guard, and was charged with felony assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury. The charge included a special allegation that the crime was a hate crime committed while acting in concert with another (a fellow CRW member), and that he had three prison priors, including a strike under California's three strikes law, at the time of his arrest. Later that month, Morrow was charged with possession of two illegal weapons.
In March 2007, while still out on bail, Morrow was charged in another incident with making felony criminal threats during an alleged business dispute with Simi Valley residents involving a pit bull.
Morrow's prior convictions include a 1995 conviction of felony theft, a 1997 guilty plea for possession of an illegal substance, and a 1998 conviction for a hate crime assault with a deadly weapon for stabbing an Asian man.
Anyone with information about Morrow should contact Ventura police detectives at (805) 339-4394 or Ventura County Crime Stoppers at (805) 385-TALK. Crime Stoppers will pay a reward up to $1,000 for tips leading to his arrest.
