Vermont White Supremacist Sentenced

On September 22, a judge in Bennington District Court in Vermont sentenced Myers to serve 7 to 15 years in prison.

Vermont White Supremacist Convicted of Aggravated Assault against Police Officer

Posted: June 4, 2009

A jury in Bennington District Court found Vermont white supremacist Michael Myers, 34, guilty of reckless endangerment, unlawful trespass, leaving the scene of a crash, driving while under the influence, resisting arrest and two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer.

The jury handed down the conviction on May 14, after nearly five days of deliberations.  Myers was first arrested in December 2007, after attacking a man who refused to work on his white supremacist tattoos.

According to authorities, Myers went to the man's home and demanded that the tattoo artist add to his current neo-Nazi tattoos. When the man refused to do a white supremacist tattoo, Myers became violent, driving his truck on the man's property and into his home. Myers fled the scene but authorities arrested him a few hours later.  Myers violently resisted the arrest, fighting and kicking the officers – resulting in the two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer.

Myers has multiple prior convictions including theft, contempt of court, driving under the influence, assault, domestic assault, and disturbing the peace.  Sentencing has not yet been scheduled.
