Texas Aryan Brotherhood Affiliates Arrested in Identity Theft Ring

Posted: October 10, 2008

Law enforcement officers in Amarillo, Texas, arrested three affiliates of the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas racist prison gang for their suspected involvement in an identity theft and narcotics trafficking ring.

On August 26, 2008, authorities arrested Michelle Weaver, 37, Amber Graves, 27, and Charles Patterson, 39; Patterson was additionally arrested for violating his parole.

During the execution of a search warrant authorities discovered methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, and numerous driver's licenses, identification cards, personal checks, credit cards and other forms of identification believed to be stolen.

The Potter County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Division, the Amarillo Police Department SWAT Team and the Randall County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit collaborated in the investigation and in executing the search warrant.

The Aryan Brotherhood of Texas (also known as Texas Aryan Brotherhood) is the largest white supremacist prison gang in Texas, with over 900 incarcerated members and hundreds more on the streets in Texas and neighboring states.  Members have engaged in criminal activity ranging from hate crimes to violent assaults to narcotics violations.  The Aryan Brotherhood of Texas is not related to the similarly-named Aryan Brotherhood, with which it is frequently confused but which is not active in Texas.
