White Supremacist Murder Suspects Arrested Near Seattle

Posted: November 23, 2005

A white supremacist couple from North Carolina has been arrested on murder charges in King County, Washington.

Scottland “Scott” Kevin Belk, 38, and his wife, Rhonda Simpson Belk, 37, are suspected of murdering Scott Belk’s 55-year-old mother, Margarette Moser Kalinoski, found beaten to death with a baseball bat in her Charlotte home by local police last month.  The Belks were reportedly living with Kalinoski at the time of her murder.

The Belks were arrested on November 22, 2005, and have been charged with murder and accessory to murder respectively.

The couple allegedly stole a freight truck from Scott Belk’s former employer and fled to Gainesville, Texas, shortly after the murder.  They then abandoned the vehicle and sought help from a local church by claiming to be Hurricane Katrina victims.  The church offered aid and bought them bus tickets to Seattle where they were staying in an apartment.

Scott Belk, known as “RevBelk” or “Reverend Belk” on racist Internet forums, has been affiliated with several white supremacist groups, including the Cleveland Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, the Creativity Movement (formerly World Church of the Creator) and White Revolution. In July 2004, Scott Belk attended the Aryan Nations World Congress parade in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and allegedly helped pay for Billy Roper, leader of White Revolution, to attend that event.

Scott Belk pleaded guilty to bank robbery in 1998 and served three years in prison before his release in 2001.
