A federal judge in Dallas sentenced racist skinhead Gary Dale Stanley, Jr. to 50 years in prison without parole for carjacking and witness tampering on December 9, 2006.
Stanley, 42, a member of the Confederate Hammerskins, a violent white supremacist skinhead organization had been convicted of carjacking, using a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of tampering with a victim/witness, and two counts of conspiracy to tamper with a victim/witness.
Stanley attempted to rob one woman at gunpoint and carjacked two others in a robbery spree in September 2005. He was later caught on tape calling his mother from jail and urging her to threaten the two women scheduled to testify against him. Menough subsequently phoned them and threatened to harm them and their families if they did not drop carjacking charges against her son Stanley.
Stanley's mother, Margaret Menough, 58, who had pleaded guilty in August to two counts of tampering with a victim/witness, was sentenced to two and a-half years in prison.
