James P. Wickstrom, the white supremacist preacher whose Hampton Township meeting place was burned in June, has taken on a national leadership role with an Aryan Nations group based in Pennsylvania.

The Aryan Nations, a so-called neo-Nazi group, had been led for 30 years by Richard Butler, a longtime admirer of Adolf Hitler who moved to Idaho in the 1970s and set up a 20-acre compound.

Mark Pitcavage, who monitors hate groups for the Anti-Defamation League, said the Aryan Nations group Wickstrom is helping lead is a faction of Butler's original group.
