Student Group at UC Irvine Hosts Radical Anti-Semite
Posted: February 13, 2008
The Muslim Student Union (MSU) at the University of California - Irvine held an event entitled “From Auschwitz to Gaza: The Politics of Genocide,” featuring Mohmmad al-Asi, who has made numerous anti-Semitic speeches around the country for several years.
During his afternoon presentation, which was held on February 7, 2008, at outdoor space on campus grounds, al-Asi claimed that “Zionists or what some people call the Jewish lobby” have made the U.S. a “second fiddle to the Israeli government.” He further claimed that the war in Iraq was fought for Israeli interests “lurking behind the scenes,” and that “the pro-Zionist, Israeli crowd” is pushing the U.S. into a war with Iran. “It is the Israelis who are benefiting from the American blood that is shed in those lands,” al-Asi added.
In the past several years the MSU has invited several anti-Semitic speakers to UC Irvine, including al-Asi, and has been involved in distributing radical anti-Semitic literature that expressed support for terror attacks against Israelis.
