His Excellency Vladimir Putin President of the Russian Federation The Kremlin Staraya pl. 4 Moscow 103132 Russia
Dear Mr. President:
It has come to our attention that a conference, "Genocide of the Russian Nation in the 20th-21st Centuries and the Judeo-Nazi Policy", is scheduled to take place in Moscow the weekend of February 19th.
This anti-Semitic gathering, purportedly focusing on the expansion of Zionism and all other forms of racial discrimination, hosted by and involving Russian extremists and known anti-Semites, is being held soon after the recent anti-Semitic petition signed by members of the Russian Duma. It is of particular concern that the conference will also include extremists from abroad.
We urge you to publicly condemn the conference and its message of hate. This is particularly vital in light of your highly commendable remarks on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
Sincerely,
Abraham H. Foxman National Director
