Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director and a Holocaust survivor, on "Defiance":

"Defiance" is an important contribution to understanding what some Jews faced during the Holocaust and how they fought back.

The Bielski Brothers turned a group of rag-tag Jews hiding in
the forest into a formidable opposition to the Nazis, while at the same time reinforcing their Jewish values.

As a Holocaust survivor born in Baranowicz, it was especially poignant for me to know that some of the partisans from my birthplace were taken in by the Bielskis.

As we move farther and farther away from the Holocaust, it becomes even more important that its story be told.
