"Shaked Spirit" The Mughrabi Gate Excavations Arab Newspapers

Israel's plans to construct a ramp at Mugrabi Gate one of the entrances to the Muslim holy sites at Al Aksa compound in Jerusalem led to protests and violence across the Muslim world, fueled in part by cartoons and articles in the Muslim and Arab press and statements by Islamic leaders accusing Israel of attempting to destroy a Muslim holy site. This sampling of editorial cartoons and quotations shows how the issue was used to spread anti-Israel myths and anti-Semitic stereotypes.
