White supremacists express disappointment at McCain and characterize him as having betrayed the white race because of his perceived support for moderate immigration policies. White supremacists claim that such policies are designed to encourage a flood of non-white immigrants to the United States. They also argue that McCain supports undocumented immigration from Mexico and that he looks to immigrants for support.
Typical of white supremacist opinion was an October 2008 post to VNN, in which "Justin Lee" claimed that McCain "is a TRAITOR. A TRAITOR to his country and a TRAITOR to his race."
Similarly, the August 2008 words of one Stormfronter who claimed that McCain was a "race traitor," too soft on immigration, and an Israeli/Jewish stooge. "McInsane is not 'white hands'…he's a race traitor," wrote the white supremacist, "[a] supporter of blanket illegal alien amnesty and a total zio-stooge" [emphasis in orginal]. A month earlier, another Stormfronter named "SILKWORM" argued that "McCain is the most anti white [sic] person since Clinton." Similarly, a VNN poster claimed in July that McCain was "sucking up to the mexishits for votes."
Just as white supremacists have created anti-Semitic graphics with which to attack McCain, they have also created anti-Hispanic visuals to do the same. Typical is one graphic appearing on the VNN forum in August 2008. Calling him "Juan McCain," an "amigo of illegals," it depicts McCain wearing a sombrero, holding a Mexican flag, and lifting a border fence to allow undocumented immigrants to cross into the United States.
