Arab Political Cartoons: Israel's Disengagement from Gaza

Posted: August 24, 2005

Israel's disengagement from the Gaza Strip continues to be a topic of great interest in newspapers across the Arab world.

The many caricatures published in these newspapers provide a variety of perspectives of Israel's historic step. They range from positive depictions of the departure of the Gaza settlers, to Palestinian terrorism continuing to push the State of Israel into further withdrawals until it falls into the sea, to anti-Semitic conspiracy theories of Israel's motivations and long term plans.
