Dear Ms. Slater:

We are contacting you to protest the BBC's refusal to list Jerusalem as the capital city of the State of Israel on the BBC Sport Olympic web site.  Israel is the only country for which you have chosen to omit listing the capital city.

Israel, like every other sovereign nation, has the right to designate its own capital city, and to have this designation respected and noted.  The earliest iteration of the page on Israel did not even mention Jerusalem and now the web site insultingly refers to the capital city of Jerusalem only as Israel's "Seat of Government."

We have watched with anger and dismay as you continue to stubbornly refuse to correct this gross error despite the worldwide attention being paid to this slight.

With only days left before the opening ceremonies of London 2012, we urge you to adhere to appropriate journalistic standards by correcting your website and listing Israel's capital city as Jerusalem.
