ADL Reacts to Terror Attacks Against U.S.
New York, NY, September 11, 2001 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) issued the following statement in response to the coordinated terrorist attacks against America, including the destruction of the World Trade Center and the attack on the Pentagon.
Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director said:
Today comes closer than any other day to another "day of infamy" for America. The coordinated attacks against the World Trade Center and the Pentagon are unconscionable acts of terrorism perpetrated by individuals who do not value human life, their own lives, or those of others.
ADL has long been vigilant and concerned that Americans were not immune from terrorism on U.S. soil. We have always been saying that terrorism is the greatest threat to America, democracy and the free world. The international community together needs to make a concerted, sustained fight to stop terrorist threats to the lives of our citizens and to our democratic liberties.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.
The Anti-Defamation League, founded in 1913, is the world's leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry.
