A widely circulated chain e-mail suggests that Amazon.com has an "associate relationship" with the Web site intifada.com, a site that sympathizes and supports the Palestinian uprising against Israel. ADL has received many inquiries on this subject.

In fact, the relationship no longer exists. On or about September 13, 2001, the following message appeared on intifada.com's site where the Amazon.com banner once appeared:

"Our link with Amazon.com has been suspended and under review by the company. This is due to unjustified e-mail campaign against us."
