ADL Expresses Solidarity with India After Mumbai Terrorist Attack
|

H.E. Ronen Sen
Embassy of India

Washington, DC 20008
Dear Mr. Ambassador:
We are writing to express our strong solidarity with the Government and people of India in the aftermath of the heinous terrorist attack in Mumbai. We extend our sincere condolences to the families of the victims.
These terrorists wantonly targeted the very characteristics of openness and vibrant democracy that have contributed to the strength of Indian society. In their cold-blooded murder of six Jews at the Chabad House, they attacked India’s renowned religious tolerance. In their take-over of world-famous hotels, they attacked India’s famed hospitality and openness to those of other nationalities and cultures. The list of victims, including Jews, Hindus, Christians and Muslims, and citizens of India, Israel, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Italy, Great Britain, Thailand, Australia, China and others, is testament to India’s thriving and durable diversity and open-mindedness.
The Anti-Defamation stands with India as it mourns the victims and resolutely continues to pursue its path of democracy, tolerance
Sincerely,
Glen S. Lewy
