Dear Mr. President:
On behalf of the Anti-Defamation League we commend the significant
commitment of your Administration to make the United Nations World Conference
Against Racism a celebration of human dignity and a rejection of anti-Jewish,
anti-Israel rhetoric.
We are disappointed that some nations would seek to utilize a forum which
should embrace tolerance to advance an agenda of hatred and misunderstanding.
With continued efforts by the Administration with the support of
non-governmental organizations, we hope that this conference can still embody
a sense of unity in the fight against Racism. At the upcoming Third
Preparatory Conference in Geneva, we urge the US to maintain its vigorous
engagement in working against the inclusion of divisive language driven by
hatred and misunderstanding.
Sincerely,
|
